My boot seems to have given up locking. Is it a common issue?

Pull the Boot liner off the inside and check for corroded/broken wires/connections

Its probably just a dodgy wire or the release mechanism has stuck open.

getting the cover back on is fiddly - easiest way is sit inside the boot with parcel shelf out,

and close down the lid part way. work from there, it takes least effort.
