vacuum hose diameter

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

Wanting to replace the vacuum hoses but unsure of the correct diameter. Hoping to cure a leak in the system that is creating havoc with turbo lag between gears. If this doesn't cure it then will move onto the actuator but hoping not to have to go down that route.

Also, anyone know how much would be needed to replace them all and would something like this be ok ?

Many thanks,

Joel

Id say couple of metres like

is 6mm internal right then ?

Not entirely sure mate

You speaking of the N75 vaccum hoses Joel? I was told they are 4mm ID hose to get but haven't got round to it yet.

I think 3mm for the smaller stuff (4mm is a bit loose) and 7mm for the bigger stuff

So its 3mm internal? The pipe from the n75 block

Yes

The pipe in the link will that be ok?

Yeah great buy it in 3mm :)

Thanks Jase,

Going to try and replace as many as possible so will get both sizes ordered :D

Anything else required mate ? I presume not but worth asking just incase lol.

How many meters of each you reckon ? Dont mind having a little left over but dont want to waste tooooo much on these

Well i used 4mm but its loose (which you dont want) so 3mm will be better

Im guessing the other one is 7mm i cant exactly remember for that one

The fabia has a lot of vacuum hoses id say 3m of 3mm and 2m of 7mm

Sure it was 3 and 4mm as the two sizes. Will recheck what I ordered

Witch vaccum hose is 7mm?

Will await to hear back from Josh till I order lol.

Thanks for the help fellas, would be lost with out you :D

Main feed from airbox to vac reservoir

Egr valve

Majority of turbo actuator (reduces right before actuator)

Main feed for n75valve

Is this your leon Jase? I deffo bought and used both 3 and 4mm, no 7mm lol.

Yeah mate slightly different to the fabia setup

So the fabia uses small hose everywhere then?

So Josh,

Did you replace everything using the 3 and 4mm tubing?

Turbo, egr, main feed etc etc

  • 1 year later...

Wanting to know this also, will be replacing mine and seems 3mm and 4mm is what to use but after a definite answer from the above.

Yes 3mm and 4mm was all I used I'm

Sure. There's one misleading pipe that looks larger diameter but it just has thicker walls. It's been a while since I was in a fabias engine bay but yeah that's all I can remember using!

Thanks :)

I just ordered 2 3m lengths of 3mm hose. Should be here in the next few days
