Another tyre questions

Featured Replies

With a slightly different slant I think.

Motor needs two new tyres due to sawtoothing. Car has been 4 wheel aligned on a hunter rig but the changes were minimal and I suspect it was just a tyre/car combination that didn't agree.

Car had Maxxis MAV1 on the rear. I'd used them before on the front and found them good value but on the rear they were well fooked in 6 months / 6k. Previous Avon ZZ3 wore the inside edge too but evenly.

I'm after suggestions for quiet non-directional tyres. I'd much rather they were quiet than super grippy and I've read directional tyres might be the source of the problem on the rear.

Brand agnostic

TIA

Just get a set of conti 3's ;)

I find road noise the biggest problem with my estate, my current tyres are Sava Intensa UHP rated I think at 68 db; they were the quietest I could find.

There was possibly a minor improvement when first fitted or that could have just been wishful thinking!

I really expected a major difference in road noise nonetheless I'm happy with them, cost approx £360.00 fitted and they're wearing much better than the previous tires which were michellin PS3's.

If you're looking for a more budget tyre I found Barum Bravuris' to be more than acceptable in the past.

I would second that for the Barum Bravuris 2. I will need a new set of fronts soon (they have done over 17K), but the rears are fine. They are not the most silent of tyres but they have good grip in all weathers.
