Should I have an oil level warning light

Featured Replies

My 57 vrs tfsi appears to have no oil level warning light I'm led to believe that it should be an orange oil can light. The other day I had the oil pressure light and bongs and was very low on oil but I'd had absolutely no warning at all? So have I got a level warning light?

I think you should yes, but it's no substitute for the dipstick.

... but it's no substitute for the dipstick.

Some cars have more than one... judging by how they're driven :giggle: :giggle:

I think you only get a warning when it gets too low: the light comes on and you get a bong.

By which point you may be at bare minimum or probably too low.

It's a bit like the fuel low warning.
