Featured Replies

hello!

Im a newbie here, just picked upp my new ride Octavia 1,9tdi 4x4 2006my with 120tkm on the clock!

I have quite good garage home with good tools and make my own services as far I can! Now is my question, what tools do i need, specifik for Octavia?

I know that i need an haldel filter wrench, but what else "special" tools do i need for easy servicing!

cam belt and waterpump is changed by dealer a week a go..so thats sorted, something that i should know or keep eye on?

cheers

19mm socket for sump plug, 32mm socket for oil filter housing

I pot winding tool for the rear callipers is a handy things to have.

VCDS might be useful as well.

Are these what are also referred to as the "Triple square" used for the break calipers?

yep, also used on the bolts for suspension, door catches, door locks etc etc. A worthy addition to any VAG group owners toolbox IMO

what sizes?

I can't remember all of the sizes I've used, but M16 rings a bell for the front suspension, M8 for door catches, (I think) various others.
