Spare plug under drivers side fog light?

Featured Replies

Just noticed this afternoon there was a wire poking out a gap under under the drivers side fog light, went down for a look and pulled it abit and there was a plug loose laying inside l, fog light is working so unsure what it could be? Or is there sometimes just a spare plug lerking around?

Stu

not sure if it's the same side but does your outside temperature guage work?

Yeh that's working? Might get the bumper off and investigate!

Stu

I'm fairly certain sensor mount for temperature is on the passenger

side of the bumper.

I think it's connected to the other end of the " ON " button in the drivers side cubby hole   :giggle:

Maybe plug for low level washer fluid!

Temp sensor is passenger side

Isn't washer fluid passenger side? 99% sure it was on mine. . .

Yeah your right i just had to check some old pics!

Vag seem to please themselves with what side they stick it on!

On the right side, I can't think of anything it could be connected to.  You only have the foglight, and I suppose the MAP sensor on the intercooler is kind of there too, but you would know about it if it was disconnected! :D

Missing any plugs off the headlight?

The headlight is one massive plug, so I don't think so.

I am racking my brain and still can't think of anything.  No radiator connections down there that I can recall.

Will just be a plug for optional extras at the factory.

Horns? I know on my car and my sister's MINI, there's one horn on each side of the car. I think the Polo was one unit though, so suspect this is the same?

Its the plug for the optional extra aero front wing! You can incease / decrease downforce from inside the cockpit

Or even more outrageous than that... Parking sensors maybe?!

You wouldn't have a loom for a factory option if the option wasn't installed would you??

On some options yeah, I'd say the loom will be there but the extras won't be.. Can't think of many to prove my point though

Fog lights on the 6n2 Polos, only VAG example I've ever heard of them doing this for though! Not sure what optional extras the Fabia had, even less any that were down there!

Much more common in the BMW world.

Has anyone said aircon yet?!

Nope, but aircon is way up higher?  There's a pressure switch / sensor somewhere around the fuel filter housing, then probably a wire or two on the compressor too.  I couldn't imagine if one was unplugged it would lead to a wire coming out all the way by the foglight.

A scan with VCDS might reveal something in the car with "open/short to ground" as it often says when something is unplugged.

Headlight adjuster?

How many pins on the plug?

What colour wires?

Right...

Pictures or it didnt happen.

I think it's connected to the other end of the " ON " button in the drivers side cubby hole   :giggle:

Well, IMO this is the best answer so far by a country mile.

Connection for head light washers?

They operate off water pressure, not a switch.
