Roomster fuel and temperature gauges

Featured Replies

Does anybody know what determines whether a Roomster gets proper fuel and temperature gauges or (as on my SE+) the silly digital fuel gauge and blue/red temperature warning lights. I don't have Maxidot. I thought at first it was part of an update which had replaced conventional gauges but I see a picture of the Roomster Noire dash still has them

The full gauges are only present on the maxidot dash. Temperature gauge not that great really! Crawls up to 90 over 4-5 miles and never moves.

Yes you can retrofit a maxidot. You will need a maxidot, a good electrician and coding.

On the contrary. Temp gauge is really great. And crawling to 90 after 4-5 miles and then never moves is just the right way the gauge works.

A few years ago, temp gauge on my previous Octavia MK1 1.6, started to move from 90 to 40 to 60 and all over again depending on the road and driving style. It prooved to be a stuck thermostat. But I was able to track the temp.

Now on that silly mfd you can track nothing. What is temperature range for blue light? What is for red? And most of all what is the range of no flashing light?

What if something like that will happen on my Roomster? Who will find the problem? It was a vast mistake to remove the gauge in order to gain some extra pennies. I wrote back a complaint letter to Skoda factory. They replied that my car will never face a temp problem that won't be noticeable or indicated by dash warning lights. I personally doubt and disagree.

This is not Skoda Simply Clever, this is Skoda simply misery.
