Taking Yeti spotting to a new level...

I think I'd be sending a copy of that to the Police!!

Only a fool breaks the 0.2 second rule!

What is the 0.2 second rule?

I think he means 2 second rule, as in braking distance. :)

What is the 0.2 second rule?

One tenth of the two second rule. As in how close that van driver is in the video.

@Bossfox - why was he taking a photo?

You should never drive closer than two seconds behind the guy in front - at any speed this should give you adequate reaction and braking distance.  Count two seconds after he passes some feature in the road (road sign, centreline dash etc) before you pass it.   :whew:

I thought that was normal driving for down your way Richard?  I like the way the van sees a gap not big enough for a citigo and does the favoured, indicate and go manoeuvre which is very common, as for the photo I guess it will be posted somewhere on the internet.

There really are some loons on our roads.

If every car on the M25 were to drive with a 2 second gap I would like to know where the rest of the usual commuting traffic would go as they wouldn't fit on the M25 ring. I know it is a safety rule but very rarely is it seen.

Oddly enough the effect of well spaced traffic is usually that the flow is smoother and the road can successfully accommodate more rather than less traffic-people would also have to learn to use all the lanes rather than assume the inside lane is only for trucks.

I think he liked the car, or the reg number.

I see. I read of 3 seconds, which I personally seek to keep between me and a car in front, but nowadays it is possible on country roads only.

Do you have the cameras running all the time? What set up have you got? Wouldn't mind having one running when I'm on Mull to record the scenery!

Yes, I have them connected to ignition feeds so they run all the time I am driving.  Front and back.

They are Blackvue 400 v2 units so record in 1080p HD.
