I thought I would share the ups and downs of owning an unfashionable petrol powered Octavia

20th February 2012 picked up my 58 reg  Octavia 1.8 TSI elegance

Finished in Brilliant silver metallic bought from Cargiant for £5199 with 62,000 miles on the clock.

4th July 2013 a rear bulb and a litre of Castrol edge for topping up

Pretty darn uneventful is TSI ownership if you ask me

Sounds about as boringly reliable as my vRS... Now Rover ownership - that'd be exciting! Or Renault... there was a new shape Megane sat with its hazards on in the middle lane of the Bradford ring road this afternoon for about an hour outside my office. And the occupants remained inside the whole time! Exciting!

I am considering a 1.8TSI as my next motor; i'd be interested to know how you've got on with economy and servicing costs.
