Mot today 11 advisories :-(

Featured Replies

All 4 tyres close to legal limit fine I knew this was getting them changed after my holiday

rear brake discs got a lip and

rear pads wearing thing

Child seat fitted not allowing full inspection of adult belt

Front wipers smearing slightly

Coolant leak (radiator thanks to briskoda discount getting one for £48)

Items removed from drivers view

And finally offside mirror slightly deteriorated

So got a few quid to spend nothing major but more inconvenience after the gearbox rebuild

Right I've replaced the wipers just got back from euro car parts and just about to change the radiator

Nothing major then, just general parts. Shouldn't cost too much really :)

"Items removed from drivers view" sounds expensive!

Yes it I annoying to get that one but we should all know not to leave things where they cause trouble! (only happened to me once - that was enough to make me moan at wife for using anti-smells thing!!!!)

did you tell the tester he was a **** .... sounds like he had too much time on his hands to scroll through the advisory sheet thinking i could use that

I agree. Another tester wouldn't have listed half of those items.

The tester sounds like a right job's worth!

I mean he could have at least moved the child seat!!!!

Right I've changed the radiator job and a half that one and now I've just gone and trashed my grill I hadn't aligned the passenger light up properly and slammed the bonnet and the grill broke p****d off is an understatement to how I'm feeling at the minute I just want to take a sledgehammer to the thing arggghh

None of them sound unjust IMO. If you cant test the belt you cant test it, same as you cant have stuff hanging in the window, I had my collection of magic trees cut off because of that.

As said, nothing expensive so no worries!

Child seats don't get moved for the simple reason that if its not put back properly and something bad happens they will get in bother, not a lot of work there so don't really see the point in complaining about minor things

We have same policy at work, if it has a child seat installed leave well alone,

If it has to be moved then it is to be left unbelted and customer is told to refit it themselves,

This.

Tester did a good job pointing those out to you on the advisories.

Obviously you are now aware and are taking actions on them which you never bothered with or thought were not important enough to bother with  before submitting it for the test.

He was right to tell you IMO.

I'm not touching any child seats, it's bad enough the grief that you get when you burst a brake pipe or knock a hole in peoples perfect car with a 2 ounce lump of plastic.

We even have to advise if we've had to move the internal light adjuster.

Radiator done, wipers replaced, obstruction still on the mirror rear discs will be replaced with pads when I was aware they were low not quite worn out yet and tyres are all being replaced again I was aware they are nearing the end of their life
