Discounts and Deals

Featured Replies

I see that Skoda are now offering 0% on their PCP deal for Citigo.

I understand that deals are hard to come by, but DTD are currently offering circa £700 off an Elegance.

What level of deal is normally now available on a new Citigo and is the deal likely to be harder to get if one also takes the 0% finance deal?

What sort of discounts are currently available? Having a 0% deal suggests that Citigo's are not as popular as they were - is this true (I have only seen 1 - plenty of UP!s though!?)

Thanks

DTD have pre reg Sports for £9000. Thats a saving of £1300. The dealers are still making a £1000 on that,as the car is worth £8000 in the trade.

The Citigo Elegance ASG costs  £10400 and the VW High UP ASG costs £11500 before any discount.Quite a large gap for what are infact the same cars.

I think it is only a matter of time before the Citigo is offered with the VAT free deal like the rest of the range.Perhaps by next year. The same happened with the Fiat 500 when it came out. No discount and waiting lists. Now you can get discounts like the rest of the Fiat range. The Vauxhall Adam has not been a hit.You can get discounts now so soon after it came out.Even the BMW Mini is now discounted. There is always a deal to be had on any car.

Smart Examiner...

No Skodas are currently offered on any VAT free deals.

And if those Sports are pre reg they are not making that much on them.

Rob A, the 0% deal on finance is now on every model, it's a brand wide promotion including the new Octy mk3.

So it bares no relationship to how the Citigo is selling.

You can haggle with a dealer and get the 0% finance too.

The VAT free deal must have just ended then,as it was advertised only last week in the local paper on the Fabia. They will do it again as they always have in the past.It has been on off, on going for ages.

I will not cry for the hard up dealers not making much profit. £1000 and also the dealer bonus.Oh dear!!  Did you see the the programe on the TV last night about the rip off dealers. One salesman said he does not know why anyone buys used cars from his showroom,as they are so overpriced, and that was from a big name dealer group.

The best discount of all though has to be on the  Mazda MX5 from the internet brokers. £4000 off. Fantastic, and a great car.

Used cars are often overpriced, that's why unles they are 5 years old or so (or private buys) I tend to buy new and haggle quite a bit... :)

The VAT free deals are over, you can only do those for so long before Trading Standards thinks the discounted price is the real price and the RRP is a bit of a joke. :giggle:

It was also overcomplicated with various deals and offers on each model, with exclusions on certain trim levels.  Must have been a nightmare for salespeople to remember.

Dealers have ot make a profit.

It's why they run a business.

Otherwise they'd be better off selling up and just investing the money rather than working.

Yes, I know that's life.

But people moan when an immigrant comes in and does their job cheaper, or they are made redundent when their job is done cheaper elseware.  Can't see how it's that's different.  Better add... in my opinion. :)

My new Citigo is currently sailing across the North Sea. Hehe can't wait.

I've checked with the dealer today, and they confirmed I'll be getting it on the 0% deal, with the 3 years servicing - and they're throwing in a normal spare wheel kit too. Getting very excited now...

Thats a good price at Westover, but i see its an HP deal,so you would pay £10800 in total. Would it be £9000 if you paid cash? No good for me anyway as i only want an automatic.

I was in London on Saturday and visited the Fiat/Abarth showroom off Oxford St. The flagship dealer as they are called. I sat in the Abarth 500 MTA automatic, and i have been spoilt. It is a great car. 0-60 in 7 seconds.  130 top speed.  Great looking.  Of course it is a lot more expensive at £15500.  Road tax £175, and 30 MPG.  I will have a test drive in August when i am next in London.

I also had a look at the Mini Cooper in the Park Lane showroom. Thats another nice car and the same price as the Abarth in automatic. It is going to be hard to decide which one to have in 2014. Even harder when i add the Mazda MX5 into the mix, plus of course the Citigo/UP

My payments have gone down £40 a month thanks to the new deal. I took the plunge on the old offer, so definitely a nice bonus for me. Not to mention the servicing.

Didescharlie - what did you buy and did you get a discount?

I recently bought an Elegance on 0% and got £300 off plus a few extra goodies for free.

White 5 door Sport. Any "discount" I got was rolled in to them matching the trade-in price on my old car (vRS Fabia estate) with the outstanding finance figure - thus clearing the decks and starting afresh on a new PCP after less than 2 years. I figured it was something like £500+ over what they'd normally want to pay for a trade-in. Plus they're throwing in the spare wheel kit (£50).  I'm pretty happy with the deal all in all.
