Does it feel a bit too cheap? (A4 driver about to swap)

100% confirm it doesnt not feel cheap - just like for like on certain things are differant and no one like too many changes in there life :-)

some things are better in the Skoda to the VW and vis vera.......

If you do convert, you wont be disapointed, i know that.
