Well my car is being replaced like for like and has been ordered. The dealer thinks the car is going to be built at the end of September but will let me know nearer the time. Its just a shame its not being replaced with an Octavia VRS. :'(

Good result. How old is it?

Are you getting a new Fabia or just having yours rebuilt? I swapped my troublesome VRS for a Monte Carlo.

No having a new car built. Im guessing I'll have to wait the 12 weeks for it to be built and delivered.and PDI'ed.

I have an 11 plate VRS with 25.5k on the clock, only bought it in June but as far as I'm aware it's on it's original engine..... Reading all this am now bricking it!!!!

So far though has been WAY more reliable than my last car, a VW Tiguan (dearest car I ever bought seggy hand and had to spend another 2k keeping it going over 18 months/30k miles)

I do a fair few miles, was the VRS a bad choice?? As far as the driving experience goes up to now have been lovin it!!.......

No,You did the the right thing because most, the greater percentage have not a problem, just enjoy.

An Extended 2 Year Warranty on a Used Skoda is £547 from Skoda if you want that piece of mind when it is going over 3 years and out of the original Warranty.

My new car was ordered on the 23rd of August and I found out yesterday that its not even going to be built until week 45!!! Went absolutely ape **** at the dealer and Skoda UK but got fobbed off with some crappy excuse saying that it actually not a bad waiting time and nothing can be done to bring the date forward. Completely fuming that I've got to wait another 3 months for my car to be replaced.

Don't panic I think all the good ones must be in Yorkshire : )

I bought mine with no real clue about the engine having oil issues, panicked when I came on here but so far it's barely using at all.

Keep enjoying the car.

Hang in there, it'll be worth it when the replacement arrives, even if you decide to part company with it straight away.

I'll keep fingers crossed that it surprises you and turns up ahead of schedule.

Finally after 5 months I have got my replacement car. Have to say the new DSG selector and steering wheel controls are very nice and pleasant and have a nice feel to them. I just hope that I don't have any issues with engine.

Actually Skoda are stopping building all MK2 Fabias sometime in the future,

as they are replaced with the Mk3 Fabia, but not building a MK3 vRS.

It was unlikely that a new Models would continue using the previous engine line when the cars will be Euro 6 Emissions.

Skoda, VW, Audi & Seat will still today take an order, then build & sell you a 1.4 TSI 180-185 ps CTHE engine & 7 Speed DSG car.

So reports of Discontinuing are odd, they actually just said they would not use the vRS name on MK3 Fabias.

(as the linked article says.)

maybe if Engine are so bad they should announce stopping Producing them all, and now,,

but that is not what VAG has done or announced.

Orders in now are said by some dealers, to quite good for the current vRS.
