Ordering features available outside the uk

Is it possible to get things fitted that are in other EU countries version of the octavia but not the uk version

Eg

I would really like to add the footwell lighting to an elegance uk trim

I retrofitted some to my FL and I wouldn't expect the mk3 to be any harder to do.

That's of course presuming the worst in your OEM quest.

Well not that I know of Ali, I can see them listed in the Romanian catalogue, but not in the uk one.

There are some strange options not available in the uk... But Ali in India you only have 2 versions of the engine and here we have 5 or 6

I just don't understand why there is an inequality between countries. Surely the same factory produces cars for each country? Why not make every option available everywhere? It's not fair and doesn't make sense

It makes perfect sense if you are trying to aim the vehicle more specifically within that country's own market. Especially if you have several marques under one company's ownership.

Wasn't a law passed 10+ years ago that meant you could buy a car from anywhere.

People were going to Holland (for example) to order a RHD car from a main dealer in UK spec because it was cheaper than buying it from a main dealer in the UK.

Must still be able to do it now.

Order from Romania (for example to get your footwell lights) in RHD then fly over, pick it up, drive home.

Can you order a RHD car from a LHD country and viceversa? Never thought about that. :)

its possible but I think the manufacturers put on quite a large amount as a special build - deterring people from doing it.

Mate here I found long time ago what versions will be available in India:

1.8 TSI and 2.0 TDI at first...

footwell lighting is controlled from the radio. you can adjust when you want it to turn on and how much light u want when driving.its standard here in denmark in Elegance vers.

BRO i think so the only option left for you is after market footwell lights :(

Or just buy the OE ones and code them to suit.
