Fabia Classic Air Con and servicing

Featured Replies

Hi all, I've got a 2006 Fabia 1.2htp classic. It does have an ac button that doesn't really effect the temperature at all.

I'm guessing needs regassing but without wanting to appear a fool it does actually have ac doesn't it? And will gassing have an effect? Never had an work done on the air con in a car before!

Have a look at the last two diagrams on this page. If your car has the compressor underneath the alternator, I'd say it does have AC.

Regassing sorted ours last summer, do you hear a hissing noise start up when you press the AC button?  That's what (and all) ours did until regassed, then the hissing went away and nice cold air instead.  Had lost about 85% of the gas since built IIRC.  Has been fine since.

That's brilliant thanks for the link. So it does have ac, no hissing but might pop it to my friendly garage see what they can do! Anyone have any experience of home gassing kits?

You're welcome. Personally I would (and did) go to a professional to diagnose/sort your problem.  I think I paid about £55, it'll probably be a bit less up your way.
