Fuel fiter

Featured Replies

hi, Quick question, Does the fuel filter on the PD engine need to be drained of water in any way?  Just remember Diesel engines from years ago had to have the water drained, Or is that something that doesn't need doing these days?  Any advice,, Ta....

No it doesn't. At least I never found any in mine.

Depends on what make of filter you have, some do have the plastic drain valve/plug on the bottom.

And it's meant to be done every 6 months.

On the Octavia II none of the fuel filters have a water trap.

They are all a drop in paper element type of one description or another, filter by the book should be changed every 60k which tbh is too long.
