Dash Display - Not Maxi Dot

Featured Replies

Hi,

Can anyone explain the standard dash display to me cycling through from how many miles to next fill up? The manual doesnt read very well.

Cheers

Not sitting in my car so im not sure if this is the right order. But it will make sense by matching them up. Miles till fill up, minutes running, miles driven in that journey, current mpg (ever-changing), mpg for journey, outside temp.

The minutes running, mikes driven and overall mpg do not set back to zero until the engine has been switched off for a few hours. 2 I think?

Hi, I too had a bit of trouble getting my head round operation of the display. Just a few things to add to Storm Blue 2's post.  If the car is not moving, the instant mpg readout appears as three dashes, when the car is moving this will update the mpg every second or so. Press the bottom rocker switch on the end of the stalk and the next readout should be the average mpg with either a number 1 or a number 2 by it. If it is a number 1 the readout is for that journey only but it will link to a continued journey if you stop for no longer than 2 hours ( I think). This memory will be erased after stopping for more than 2 hours.  If you press briefly the OK/Reset button under the stalk you will toggle to the mpg with a 2 by it. This will give the overall mpg since it was last reset ( you do this by holding the OK/Reset button in for several seconds) This readout stays in memory even when the car is switched off.

To summarize: toggle between memory 1 and memory 2 with the button under the stalk. Memory 1 is for the journey, memory 2 is for as long as you want (I always reset on full tank so I can compare with brim to brim mpg). I hope this is helpful (and correct) as there is no easy way to explain it.

Thats great guys and well explained! if only skoda could of done the same :giggle:

In addition, the car will automatically display miles to fill up, once you have reached the low level on the meter display. It then goes down in five mile increments, giving an approximate range, depending on current driving style.

It will stay on that mode until you change it and if you do whilst driving, it will switch back, to remind you, if you stop the engine and re-start it at any time.

Just wait till it gets cold again... that *beeep* is gonna make you **** your paints! Gets me every time! lol
