Bee Sting Aerial Removal?

Featured Replies

How do I remove the aerial from my VRS?

I unscrew it and it gets to the point where it just go round and round?

(It was the same with my Seat Leon)

Don't think it comes off unfortunately. I know the early Fabia's had detachable aerials but it seems they changed it for the later ones! :(

Mine starting going round and round, because it was broken at the thread point, I ended up getting a whole new aerial and base for

Why do you want to remove it?

Car wash?

Just unscrew it a bit, put it flat, screw it back in in that position. Wont move then. Once washed, reverse the procedure to put it back where it belongs.

Only reason I know - had to put it flat when I went onto a cross-channel ferry (speedferries) due to where I was told to park the car. Antenna was scraping against the 'roof' on the level where I was parked uped, thus the folding-down bits :)

If you REALLY REALLY want to remove the Octavia/Fabia aerials be careful. Not many aftermarket stubbies will fit. I got the Forge one to but stathap didn't. The rather nice Honda S2000 one currently being run as a group buy on UKMKIVS is also a no no.

Tin snips or an angle grinder.

Hi,

I have just changed my Bee sting aerial, I used a Honda Civic/S2000 held in with Loctite to stop it being pinched. It all went fine no problems at all.

Mine is an S2000 aerial too - cost me 2.40 off Ebay.

To get the old one off you need to give it a really good tug, holding it with pliers or similar.
