S3 17" Avus alloys

Featured Replies

What do yo reckon? Will these suit the Fabia vRS? Will they actually fit?

Hmmmmmmm.........

Yes they will fit with the correct tyres.

And yes I think they would look lovely, chunky alloys suit the Fabia.

Would the correct tyres be 205/40 17" ?

or 215/40 17 tyres which would offer a 'bit' more sidewall protection and comfort.

Can anyone do a Photoshop of what it would look like. Reckon it would look good.

Alloys from the Leon Cupra-R are still my favourite though, for a semi-OEM look :)

Shame they're quite rare to get hold of 2nd hand...

check out the Milltek web site, it has tfboy's Fabia on there which is fitted with those very alloys.

I think the S3 alloys would look the bo#$#cks on a Fabia :D

Have I missed something - does he now have Ross' old Fabia? That's the only one I've ever seen running Cupra-R rims

Steve

215/40 r16 tyres are actually cheaper than 205... which is nice :D

Dont forget that members of FREEDOM have access to a nice tyre calculator which will show you stats on whatever tyre size you put in... the circumfrence difference, and how it will affect your speedo amongst other measurements :)

Yup...

Aaah, thought so! So the Cupra ones are back on in favour of the TT rims eh? Good choice

Nope

The Cupra ones were on when Ross owned the car when his car was used to make the very first Fab vRS Miltek exhaust...

I am also contemplating buying a set of these!!!! lol

Look bloody marvelous IMHO

But the S3 alloys are 17"... :P

thought the S3 were 225????

They are. But to keep the same rolling circumference on the Fabia, you need to 205/40 or 215/40 tyres.

Does anybody know what offest the S3 alloys have?

Gonna answer my own question here - ET32.

So, looks like there will be minimal difference in width!

Nice!

Is it lowered or just standard suspension?

Nice!

Is it lowered or just standard suspension?

Yeah it has eibach lower suspension

Cheers

The offset and width are the same as Xav's TT wheels so will sit in the arch the same.

I'm having second thoughts after sourcing a set of TT rims. These should be the same offset and fitment as the S3 wheels in theory, but they appear to stick out a bit much for my liking.

See other thread here...

Wheels are very similar in design to S3 rims without the dips at the end of each spoke so should give you a rough idea what they'll look like.

They do seem to sit proud.

But they are the same dimensions and offset as the Comps so should when fitted with the right tyres look just dandy.
