Drive the deal

Featured Replies

Reread what I wrote and I got it a bit squiffy.

I think the problem with the 0% finance is that it costs Skoda UK money.

So they somehow claw something back from the dealer.

I'm guessing this is why they can only do the good prices if you don't finance on the 0% rate.

This will explain why you can't have the cracking price with the 0%, but can if you pay cash or take traditional finance.

I did use carfile, but not a cash order. I had p/ex and deposit leaving me with somewhere around 40+ percent finance.

I think the discount at time of ordering was something like 12%

Also at the time of ordering the skoda finance offer was 7.9%

The finance guy at the dealer told me that the 0% comes out of their profits, so although its available they tend not to promote it. I suspect this applies particularly to customers who are already on a broker discount.

The cost of the 0% is shared between Skoda and the dealer - its pretty much 50:50 I believe. So in effect it doesn hit the dealers margins they can work with.

Interesting stuff. So i guess if i place an order and the dealer then says he cannot do the big discount and the 0% finance aswell i may still be able to get some sort of discount with the 0%. I guess if the deal turns out to be not as attractive as advertised then i can say no thanks before paying the deposit.

only one way to find out, just got to toss a coin wether i go for muscavado or black magic....

If you want to look like a funeral director then get the black magic

Colour is very personal but the Yeti looks least good in black in my book...  since you can't see the body colour B-pillar and the car loses the distinctive front and rear "visor" glazing as a result.

I think Muscavado is winning, we did like steel grey but that's not available to order anymore. Like you say Muscavado suits it and i saw a couple in the flesh at the dealer last week, one in the showroom and one outside in the sunlight.

Apologies to owners of black Yetis but here we have an anonymous black station wagon:

And here we have a lovely Yeti:

Muscovado is one of my favourite colours for the Yeti.  And to boot it is a LOT easier to keep clean than black.   :giggle:

The gobi sand leather also suits the muscovado  ;)

I thought Muckovado was your fav Johann  :giggle:

My favourite is Steel Grey...     Hence driving one.  Next is Muscovado, but if I was to get a new Yeti it will be WHITE.  So metallic 140 DSG or white 170 DSG for roughly the same money?  No contest there is there?!

Have to say if i was to choose again and all the colours were still available i'd have chosen in this order:-

Orange/Tangerine

White

Steel Grey

I actually dislike the muscovado and black equally but everyone has their own personal view on such things.

Then again a few years ago i really liked the "nightshade" colour on Qashqais. Now i regularly see a car in that colour and it has lost all appeal.

My current car colour i really like is this:-

Not necessarily the car but the colour really looks good on one locally to me.

That is a nice colour (IMHO).  The new Shark Blue looks very nice to me, too.

Any colour you like so long as it's black....

Mine was the only used Yeti in the right spec with the right engine within 400 miles...what was I to do?

Should I respray it?

Given all colour availability I'd have the Tangerine (and would have done if I'd got my order in a few months earlier).

Of the current line up I'd be likely to go for the Corrida Red with a black roof - I still like the Muscovado but I wouldn't have the same colour twice in a row. The white is growing on me too - having had two white cars before I really went off it but Candy white looks much better than the Ford off-(rust)white mine were!

With any luck Skoda will bring in a replacement orange, like Kia's Techno Orange:

or better still get one custom spayed with this colour

I'm not interested in subtle :giggle:

Colour is a very personal choice.

I wouldn't order an L&K to replace my Elegance on the basis they wouldn't do me one in red.

The Yeti is a bit quirky looking, it suits stronger colours in my opinion.

All kidding aside, I saw a few yeti on the drive down to collect mine. The one that stood out least of all was a black one, I had to look twice to recognise it as a yeti.

But I appreciate that its a personal choice.

I didn't think I'd be a fan of white but hey ho!

If the orange metallic was still an option I'd have jumped at it. I used to have a 'fired iron' qashqai that was an orange/red colour.

Muscovado suits the yeti too though I think.

Parked next to one of Snowy's white cousins in town yesterday. Looked lovely. I'd have had a white one...(but I hadn't seen Shark Blue Metallic then...)

Given all colour availability I'd have the Tangerine (and would have done if I'd got my order in a few months earlier).

Something just gone wrong with my monitor...

My favourite colour is this MINI Bayswater blue.  Pale but with a touch of grey and metallic:

We have discussed this before somewhere on here and someone made me a Yeti in that colour:

Just a tiny bit more subtle than Shark Blue.

Is this Shark Blue you speak of generally regarded as quite unsubtle/in-yer-face/flamboyant in these parts?

Given all colour availability I'd have the Tangerine (and would have done if I'd got my order in a few months earlier).

Me also! :)
