Put a new flywheel on the truck the other week. Whilst I could get to it, I thought I'd put a new crankshaft oil seal on as the original, which had done 160k odd was seeping a little. I bought a new one from GSF. I remember remarking to my Dad how cheap and nasty it looked. Put it on. Put the flywheel, clutch, gearbox, driveshafts etc etc back on .... 4 hours later started it up. P***ing oil like no tomorrow. Not best pleased to say the least!

 

Don't buy a crankshaft seal (Transmission end) from GSF. They are sh1te!

it must have been one of those 'really made in China' parts from the gray market labeled 'made in EU'...

at least we all know in Russia that 99% of all rubber(y) parts are cheap quality Chinese parts, no matter what is written on the package or stamped on parts..

all EU is against pollution created by rubber industry, so they order those parts from China.

with the consequences you've just described.

so when a local car parts dealer is trying to sell us rubber parts at EU prices, we just tell them 'what do you prefer? call the cops on you? or stick that part in your rear end?'

but paying a low price and knowing what you buy... that's another story.
