On my hatchback Octavia, the door open light is displaying if when the tailgate is shut. Furthermore the car displays the following symptoms

 

 

 

(1) Door open light on all the time

 

(2) Remote central locking does not work (even tried spare key).

 

(2) I can lock car by using the key. However boot has to be locked separately if it has been unlocked

 

 

Does this sound like the dreaded boot microswitch, if so how does the rear panel come of the tailgate as the top of mine near to the rear window is loose, but not sure how it is fixed on around the sides.

the panel is only held on with push clips all round.

if the top is loose start there, and just pull it off.

 

does sound like a micro switch issue,

as the car thinks the hatch is open the whole time, it wont lock....

Thanks I will try to have a look at the weekend.

 

Funny thing is the door open light now no longer displays.

 

BTW is replacing the mirco switch a simple un-connecting  the defective one and replace with new ?

ehh.. if it similar to the door micro switch, not quite that straight forward. theres a guide for the door one here if u search.

not sure about the boot lock one, but most likely it has happened someone else already..
