AP coilover/Whiteline RARB

Featured Replies

I asked this in the past hoping now people have added/removed them with coilovers and can let me know if they are any good and actually work with coilovers?

What are the benefits if you have tried the above? and what did you notice?

I'm looking for people's views/experiences will coilovers, NOT stock suspension.

Cheers

Coilovers are an awesome handling upgrade in their own right

But team them up with a rarb and the handling is phenomenal!

:)

I was wondering this also, read a few posts that they don't make much difference after you've got a decent set of Coilovers on so I was a bit put off but think I'm gunna hold Jase to that and hope he's not lieing :) lol

coilovers + rarb + polybushed = fun :D

Yup thats why I'm asking mate, i guess the only way to know is an owner who has took them off.

Not sure as the rear end will be stiffened by the coilovers.

I ran kw coils

Handling was awesome! Pushing to the limit on bends the back end went light so you knew you were on the limit.

Heard rumours for years on the addition of the rarb and thought it was a load of rubbish

One day on ebay i stumbled across a neuspeed arb (octavia mk1 platform) and bought it for a bargain at £52

Stuck it on the car still sceptical!

And then OMG! It is phenomenal, back end doesnt get that light twitchy feeling until your really really pushing it, corner speed is up a good 10-15mph

The best way to explain it is its like a big hand pushing the back end into the tarmac

Awesome mod

Love mines

I've got JOMs fitted to mine but have got a whiteline rarb and seat sport front strut brace to go on this week so will update once on. To be honest I'm sceptical but paid £40 for both so not too fussed

Pmsl when I over cook it around a corner getting cocky with all my new parts you can strip mine lol

Its funny when you go past the limit, back end kicks out then your doing a bit of lift off oversteer for a second or so

Then it grips in and omg what a strange feeling! I wouldnt go out full throttle straight away as it takes a good bit of getting used to

To be honest I don't push it that hard anyway its my work car but I like to have a nice car. It's on the middle setting now am I best off keeping it on this?

I know it was a different cAr but I had tein coilovers and whiteline rarb on my old yaris and it was similar to what jase described.

With and without the arb was like night and day. Made a massive improvement on top of what you think coilovers do. without the arb, it felt sloppy again.

But as said, if you push it hard enough it will snap back at you if your not paying enough attention.

If your not on the limit it is doing nothing for you, i suggest you take it off and sell it :)

I have AP's and whiteline rarb set up on mine - the handling is awesome and it appears very very difficult to "lose it " - I started with kumho tyres but as they are a soft compound I wore them out very quickly ( 6k miles for the front ) - now have bravarius on and would recommend.

Witch setting do people have on there rarb

Hardest setting :)

I have the jabbasport rarb. It's superb :)

Fitted mine tonight on the middle setting, only drove home but the car does feel different but I can explain how if that makes sense. Will give it some tomorrow but the rear seems to feel more connected to the actual car now, weird feeling I will test it out and try and give a better description

cool let us know

I run ap coilovers and a whiteline rarb. Very pleased with how she performs. Make sure your tracking is spot on and you'll have a pretty tasty handling car.

Although, Everytime I press on I can't help reminisce back to my Peugeot 306 gti6.

Even standard it would chew my fabia a new one through the twisties. Great car.

My mate has a gti6 - I was bloody impressed and it pulled really well. Like you I reminisce back to my old fiesta, that used to handle superbly!

That's one good thing about the sporty French cars is they handle so well. Had a go in my mates clio sport 197 f1 and oh my... Little effort needed and it just goes where you point it
