Can anyone help

Featured Replies

My mk1 vrs won't start I drove it to work it was fine then when finished work got in car tried to start and it wouldn't start the traction control light is permanently on and after so long of trying to start the oil light starts to flash

Try unplugging the MAF sensor.

Tried that still don't start mate

It could quite possibly be a faulty battery broken alternator leads or it could be a burnt fuse box on top of the battery where abouts in nottingham are you ?

The car turns over but it seems like there no fuel or spark and I just put a new crank sensor on

Does fuel pump run when you open drives door after you unlock car,

I'm not that far from you and have VCDS, which may be of help. I may be able to get over your way tomorrow evening.

Did you use a genuine VAG sensor?

Genuine Bosch one from euro car parts

Fuel pump has stopped working when u open door

Bosch should be ok, but the general rule with engine sensors is genuine VAG parts only. Aftermarket sensors rarely seem to work properly on VAG engines.

VCDS diagnostic needed.

I will drop you a pm tomorrow about meeting up. Assuming that I can actually get to you seeing as the council only like trams not cars.

Swapped fuel pump relay with my mates leon with same engine and still didn't start

Clifton ? May have spotted you ... my other half lives up the top end near the butchers and the chip shop does your car have a wide mouth front bumper and black grill and I think bbs Lm wheels ? If so your not too far away. Me and my dad also a brisky member have vcds lite if you need to run a scan on your car

Yeah mate all the help the better I live down the road from the chop shop and butchers

So that's your car then also a private plate ? Did your missis mention she had a spirited drive back from qmc to Clifton with another vrs ? If that's definetly your motor your only one street up from where I spend most of my free time ... Let me know if you need a hand and ill sort it out with my dad as he knows how to use vcds better than me as I personally haven't used it yet

  • Author

I don't have private plate it's the Evo style front end

Fuel pump has failed if it doesn't prime and you have checked relay 409 and fuse

  • Author

Sorry fuel pump does prime up still

Only just got home from work, so I'm not going to be able to get over your way tonight I'm afraid.
