Elegance spec change

Featured Replies

As already noted in an earlier thread, front assist appears to have been added today,

Can anyone see anything else changed, or emitted.

Looking at it now I'm thinking (yet again on the very day I buy) that electric folding mirrors don't appear to still be in the spec. Or am I being stupid

Can you clarify that point - Front assist is added free of charge from today or it has an associated cost? thanks

No it's free on elegance spec

Look and the skoda uk website, it's now appeared on the standard spec list,

But u can't see the folding mirrors anymore

Are you mixing up the front assistant (effectively emergency braking) with front parking sensors? The front assistant has been listed for a while.

You're right about the folding door mirrors though. They are listed if you complete the configurator for an Elegance and view the configuration summary.

I'll add this to my list of questions for the Skoda rep tomorrow.

Oh I didn't realise the front assist was part of it. It's not listed in the book.

So are you saying the folding mirrors are still part if it

It's getting difficult to tell because of different information in different places, but the folding mirrors are listed in the downloadable brochure and the configurator, so I presume it's a mistake in the equipment list. Hopefully drewpost can confirm with Skoda UK tomorrow.

Please do if you can, as when I ordered my FL. elegance it had folding mirrors listed but arrived without.

If you could also confirm the front assist please too

It's getting a bit ridiculous trying to work out what may or may not turn up on your car at the moment.

I've got visions of people sat in the factory rolling dice to decide what to fit.

Deja Vu... sounds like the Skoda Rapid. :D

Did you take that up with the dealer. If you signed up for a car with folding mirrors & they were not fitted then you should have rejected the car as not what was ordered. If my Elegance turns up without them they can keep it. The June brochure clearly shows them in the Elegance spec & that's what I ordered from.

Just to clarify you have another thread saying you have just ordered your car. How is it that you have got your car but have only just ordered?

Did you miss the "...when I ordered my FL. elegance it had folding mirrors listed but arrived without"?

Yes it's my current FL MK2 elegance that arrived without folding mirrors, and yes they had been in the brochure from which I ordered.

I did pretend to reject, dealer never told me but I knew they wouldn't be in it from being on this forum.

I pretended to reject and got £100 back and a spare alloy wheel, I hadn't ordered any spare.

The plot thickens...

I've just spoken to Skoda UK customer services. They've got a copy of the June 2013 brochure and the Front Assistant is not listed as standard equipment on the Elegance. I've got a copy of the June 2013 brochure which I downloaded from the Skoda website 2 weeks ago that does list Front Assistant as standard equipment on the Elegance. If I try and download a brochure from the website now, I get the April 2013 one instead. If I spec an Elegance in the configurator, it adds the Front Assistant as standard.

This is really starting to feel like moving goalposts and I'm getting frustrated at committing to spend over £25k on a car and I can't even get a clear picture of what will be fitted!!

Ok. I've just hung up with Stephanie at Skoda and here is what she confirmed (I had the thread up and went through the questions). I only asked about my car so can confirm this is all applicable to elegance hatch only. Combi - you're on your own!

- front assist (w/o ACC) is standard

- no option to buy just front parking sensors w/o park assist package

- seats are Alcantara

- steel grey is not available as of build week 37.

Part of the confusion here is that, actually, we're taking about two different cars. MY13 cars which most everyone who has received their cars already will have and then the new MY14 cars which had some spec changes ie - front assist radar. Annoying? Yes. But at least it's understandable in the context of different model years.

Steph is going to come back to me this afternoon to confirm my build week (fingers bloody crossed its before 37 and hasn't slipped!!!) and also with any more info about the steel grey situation.

Spacenase - not sure what your rep was on about. Steph had the June brochure and, more importantly, her official spec list that was updated as of this morning, and they all say that front assist is standard on Elegance.

Thanks goodness for that! I was hoping that the rep I spoke to would be able to work off an official spec list, but he was just working from a printed brochure. Were you able to clear up the folding mirrors question?

One final query, when did you order your car? I'm trying to get a view on when mine might be built as the dealer has said nothing yet.

Ahh yes. Electronic folding mirrors are standard on the elegance trim.

I expect that the elegance will still have the folding mirrors as standard, not sure that the non folding units have boarding spots do they?

Biggest SUK faux pas is not putting these on as standard or even as an option on the vRS; think its bull; their most expensive Octavia and you have no choice but to fold the damn things in yourself!

Excellent, thanks.

I think it was the 10/11 of June. We were waiting for the mortgage to go through before pulling the trigger! Haha

Didn't ask about boarding spots but will try to remember when she rings back.

But I think you only get the boarding spots if you order the optional electric seats / memory mirror combo.
