So, for others like me who wanted the shiny bits... are you keeping the silver roof rails even though the chrome window surrounds are not available?

 

Mine's not being built for another four weeks so I have a chance to change my options. It's tempting to cancel the roof rails and put the combined savings towards another toy instead...

 

I *want* the silver roof rails (and I *want* the chrome surrounds!) but think it might look a little odd without the chrome window surrounds to balance it. What are other people doing? Mine's race blue btw.

I agree it looks odd. They look totally lost in design terms as theres no other chrome from the side view to match in. Id save the money and spend it elsewhere without doubt.

If I had known that my promised window trim would NOT be fitted, I would not have spent the £150 on the silver roof rails. Now I have silver rails and no chrome window trim? It's fine - life is too short to get hung up over something so trivial. The dealer still claims that they will fit FOC when they are available, so I might get there in the end... But not going to lose any sleep over it. I guess you have seen what mine looks like.

Mine came with black surrounds (was told they would be chrome - see various other posts); plus the silver roof rails I added late on didn't make it on to the car - quite relieved actually, black and black is fine - and maybe sportier with the right colour? (see black pack options for VRs)

 

I did notice though that the black elegance estate in the showroom; which arrived the same time as my estate; now has silver roof rails, silver window trim AND silver strips as rubbing protectors about a third of the way up the door. Don't know whether that's the dealer fiddling about with it or not.
