Fab VRS wheels and tyres

Featured Replies

Hi all.

I have a fab vrs with standard wheels and lowered around 30mm will 225/45/16 fit on these and not rub? The garage says not but thought I'd best ask first as they might just want rid of them

Cheers

225?

Do you mean 205?

I've never heard of anyone running 225 wide tyres on the standard rims.

I reckon if you do the extra side wall, 45% of 225 rather than 205 will probably mean they'll rub.

Why not get said garage to fit them and do a lock to lock test, or speed bump strewn test drive?

Defo 225 mate

When they mentioned I was slightly apprehensive that's why I came onto here and said I'd so back tomorrow.

I don't want to get them to fit them if they may rub

It's a waste of time, only £50 cheaper than the 205's that's what made me think I just wanted to sell them off

I've heard of running thinner 195/45/16s as they were cheaper and ther evening no issue but never running a wider tyres.

Personally I'd be concerned they were actually to wide for the wheels and problems much bigger than rubbing may occur.

Way to wide for the rim.
