Skoda should have done this with the new vRS IMO

Featured Replies

They should have differentiated between the TSi and TDi. Sod the fake chrome exhausts they should have put a proper chrome twin exit on the TDi out to the left and the same for the TSi but with the single exit each side; both cars should perhaps also have worn a subtle red TSi or TDi badge.

But why does anybody need to differentiate between the two models?

As an owner I's know which I've got and anyone else taking a look really wouldn't care.

Only situation would be if I was desperate to tell other people that I was driving a petrol or diesel - but then again people might not know what the different exhaust setup or badge means.

Point is that Skoda this time havent gone to the effort to make them look physically identical, the diesel exhaust arrangement is a shambles.

They may as well not bothered at all to hide the fact and made them both look better. Just my opinion of course.

They differentiated, the petrol is faster isn't it? lol :)

Your average punter isn't going to know ;)

Agree entirely with Stoofa. The owner knows what he's got - it should be all about whatever is more efficient. An Octavia is an Octavia.

Still looks **** and cheap though. They should have just done what VW did with the GTI and GTD IMO would have looked better....in fact would have made the TSI look that bit better still.

Looked at a GTI today, very disappointed :(

Agree on the vRS exhaust thing

They will as soon as you start the engine. :)

I need to admit if I was getting a diesel I'd prob go to the elegance

Couldn't care about what badges Skoda stick on them though it seems bizarre to use just one pipe on the tdi, but there again using twin pipes on the tsi's a laugh as surely these should be for v configerations only and not a straight 4

Not necessarily.

Dual pipes do help with the exhaust phase of the 4-stroke engine no matter what the engine. I'm not saying night/day but there is a benefit to be had. So why not make the dual exhausts twin and split them to both sides of the vehicle?

With regards the diesel setup - yer, looks terrible if you get your head down to road level and take a look. However anybody following you or glancing at your vehicle will not see what is going on.

u'll notice it clearly on a winters day when the car is still cold - smoke coming out of only one side!!!!

no need to bend down to road level.
