Headlamp removal

Featured Replies

I have unbolted three bolts and made the headlamp loose but it wont come out.. seems to be held back somehow.

I was wondering if this has anything to do with the extra silver bit on the bottom of the unit that is on a spring..

Any ideas how to get the unit out?

Thanks

Andy

Have you looked in the manual? There are instructions there for replacing some bulbs, though not all (and not the front indicator :( ).

Well... what has happend is the electic connection that goes into the back of the indicator bulb itself has come of .. and this connector is needed to give grip to twist and unlock the bulb... and there is no way I can get this connector back on to give a grip.

The only alternative is to remove the headlamp... which should be easy... and I ma nearly there haveing undone three main bolts making it loose but still wont pop out.... ridiculous really!

To remove the headlight you need to drop the front bumper, trust me I have tried everyway to remove the headlight without removing the bumper

Ok.. I have got that out of my system....

..... does the whole bumper need to come out or can you get away with loosening one side?

Could you kindly give me some direction on waht needs to be done to take it off...

Thanks

Andy

I have found the best tool for getting that out, go to a fishing tackle shop and ask for a pair of pike fishing hook pliers they are long and have a slight curve and the lock on to what you're trying to remove, they are similar to scissor crimps that a surgeon uses

They are like these but longer
