Monte Carlo has been a nightmare any advice

Featured Replies

I had a wet seat a few time and I narrowed down the options to these:

1. Rear windows left open a crack (thanks meddling kids...). If you have 4 x electric windows, make sure you haven't clicked too much on your remote and dropped the windows a bit - that can happen).

2. The draingage channels seem a bit hit and miss and sometimes the water will collect on top of the door, dropping into the car when you open. Other times it sits in the door and drains out of the holes underneath.

Mine hasn't been persistent, so I think it was that and not a fault.

As for the squeaky seat, no idea, but that is what warranty period is for!

Sorry to hear it was a bad experience, but totally worth complaining to the garage and to Skoda UK (and telling the dealer). Were they Skoda franchise, or all sorts?

Well went to the dealer today and they had a look and admitted something wasnt righr so far they have tightened up all the doors so tjey seal a bit better. Will have to wait and see if this helps going back in next wednesday for alloy and seat and to check the leak. They guy said £75 for full refurb of alloy which is what he recommends. Dont think leack was coming from windows pdibk as there not eletric and I havent used them yet.

so you getting a new seat then

My drivers seat creaks as well, can be rather annoying but had it in for warranty work and they said they couldn't replicate the problem, sent me on my way and it still creaks. I just live with it (going to another dealership as they haven't been able to rectify other warranty issues either)

It's a shame you're having problems with the dealer.

West End only recently took over that franchise from Chathams. I dealt with west end in their original location in Uphall and have dealt with Chathams in Dunfermline before and since they changed to West End. I have found them both to be absolutely brilliant dealers where nothing was too much trouble.

My experience of the Edinburgh dealership in its Chathams days was less positive.....

Since you say you are in Falkirk why don't you use the Uphall branch since that is closer? Or even Dunfermline- it's not much further than Edinburgh.

I'd be very surprised if you didn't receive far superior treatment!

I agree that the Uphall branch, under the same management, has always been very good over the 25 years that I have dealt with them and I am very surprised at your experience.

Just thought I would give you an update. After doors all been tightened up the back seat is still getting very wet. Not so bad in the foot well tho. I called up again and told them I wasnt happy so now when I take it in there gonna give me a courtesy car and keep it till its fixed. They aslo said afterwards they would valet the back seat to avoid staining and also gonna refurb my alloy free of charge and are replacing the front seat to try and sort the squeak. So all in all a better response from before just hope they can get to the bottom of the leak. As for using the Edinburgh branch its actuality handy for me as I work in the industrial estate so not out of my way.

Hopefully they will get it all sorted.

(there are people that work in dealerships that read this Forum. People from Skoda UK as well.)

Is the car being driven in driving torrential rain or getting wet when just parked up.??

Any trace of dampness near the top of windscreen, & getting back into the roof liner.

That has happened on a members vRS.

The Aerial/roof area would also be a suspect, but you would not expect much to get in that way..

I,m very surprised by the bad experience you have had at west end. I have always found the service dept to be outstanding since they have taken over from Chathams. I have never had an issue with any of the staff or their abilitity to sort issues. Both Wendy and John have always been helpful and courtesy.

Mmmmm......

:wonder:

Confused.com,

what is everyone saying now,

'They get a great service from this dealership and so does everyone'.

or just

'they got a great service' ?

Not much of any importance to those that get not so great service.

Good and helpful customer services is expected when buying a car or getting it serviced, if you do not receive that, you can just walk.

You hope you are going to get the same good customer service and attention when you have a problem and

need the Dealership or Skodas help to resolve the problem.

I read that as possibly pointing to a suspicious post that could be a dealer plant, with a link to another...but that's just what I read it as!

Nail-head.

That's exactly how I read it PDIBK.

Unusual first two posts to make.

That's why it got one of these :wonder:

And that's why I gave it a "mmmmm...."

This vrs2013 person joined the forum yesterday at 19.36 and put his first "post" up at 19.46 ...suspicious imo ..maybe the car show room was quite on a monday nite at around 19.30 .!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lol

Had the same thing (wet seat) on my VRS - with manual winding windows. Turned out it was the windows, because over time they slipped down a tad and let water in during heavy rain...
