electric window broke

Featured Replies

Yesterday I broke the electric window. I think I went from down to up to fast it made a crunching noise now is doesn't work. I managed to close it by gand .

Do I need to by a regulator kit? Will the £14 one off ebay be OK?

How easy is it to do?

Edited by DEANorKERRY

There is a guide on how to remove them. eBay kits in my experience are crap.

Been having a read. Looks like a pain to do. How much do you think it would cost for Skoda to do it?

Did the wifes Fabia in the freezing cold and took just under an hour so Skoda to do it? There gona lift your leg for a couple of hours in my opinion.

I think book time is about an hour. Plus a bit extra to re seal the door.

I did mine a couple of times. Check why it failed... i did mine but didnt fix the reason for it to break which was the seal at the bottom of the window wasnt sealing. Then i did it again and fixed the seal, and so far its ok. it will probably break on my way home now!

Have a go yourself if youre handy with the old spanners

If not, try putting up a post in your regional section on the forum asking if someone local to you could give you a hand in exchange for Coffee/Tea and Bacon butties. Some very helpful members on the site who would help, you only need to ask :)
