Fabia 02 number 2 sensor location?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Re: Fabia 2004 1.4 16v 100 hp

anyone out there to help? I have a eml light on, having had the diognostics done, it states number 2 02 sensor has a fault. I've purchased a new 02 sensor from a local motor factors supplier, its a good make, NTK. They informed me that the sensor will be located around the area of the CAT. Can anyone please tell me exactly where it is, whether its easy to access and also if any parts need to be removed to get to it? Estimated time to change would also be helpful. Barring in mind I'm not a pro technician and never changed a 02 sensor before! :-o

Any advice would be much appreciated

hi, They are right it is just on the back end of the catalytic convertor so it's right underneath the car. It won't take too long to change but you probably need a special 22mm lambda probe socket to undo the old one, it's like a normal deep 22mm 6 sided socket but it has one side cut out so the cable can go to one side, they have a tendency to be effing tight after all the years of cooling/heating as well so make sure you support the car properly with axle stands and not just on a jack alone

As above.................................basically under the gearstick..........oh and it might be on the topside of the pipe.......so between the pipe and the car body..............nice and easy.............. :wall:

No 1 sensor is between the manifold and the first cat..................so right at the front of the engine bay under the heat shield near the oil filter!
