Has anyone else ever had this problem where the drivers belt doesnt retract well. It usually needs to be helped along

Mine does it, annoying is not the word! Got told spraying it with Mr sheen works but it didn't, just made a mess lol

Lol I wonder if its a build up of crud in the spool or just worn springs

Mine is exactly the same. Also passed MOT

it's a known fault caused by muck on belt. Well documented, and cured by a liberal application of a furniture polish with lots of silicon ,as in Mr Sheen. i do it yarly ,or whenever it gets slow. PULLL OUT BELT to max. Spray with Mr SHEEN, and let belt retract naruraly. Pull it in and out and soon belt will retract as normal .

Mr Sheen has let me down in the past also :(

Better than Mr Sheen would be to clean the muck off in the first place.

Pull all the way out, and prevent it retracting with a peg or similar.

Get a dry cloth and run all the way along the belt.

Get some soapy water and dampen (not wet) a sponge in it, run all the way along both sides of the belt.

Let it dry whilst it's fully out.

Should be nice and smooth again :)
