Hi from a future Octy 4x4 owner

Featured Replies

Hi there, a newbie here.

Just ordered an Octy Estate 4x4 with the 2.0TDI 150PS engine. Skoda are quoting 12/13 weeks lead time so it should arrive mid Oct, just in time for winter. I've got a ski business so the new longer internal load length combined with the 4x4, all for sensible money, was the clincher for me.

My only complaint is that the 4x4 is only available in the SE trim which is fine & with a few (reasonably priced) extras added I've got everything I want bar one thing, namely elecy folding door mirrors. I was really disappointing to find that they're only available on the Elegance model (as standard) & not as an extra at all.

I have to park on a narrowish road for work & my home parking space is a bit snug so its gonna be a real pain having to manually fold them in all the time. S'pose it's only a small sacrifice when I think of the cost saving versus a Quattro/Scooby/Cross Country etc!

Gonna be running winter tyres (probably either Continental TS850's or Vredestein Wintrac Extreme's) on a spare set of rims & would welcome recommendations for suppliers &/or other tyres.

Welcome to Briskoda. :)

Welcome.

Hi and welcome aboard.

Hi and good choice. The sensible man's 4 wheel drive car :) And thumbs up for the winter tyres, too. I got my set of steels plus winter tyres from http://www.mytyres.co.uk

Thanks, I've heard good things about Mytyres although I'm having difficulty getting a quote from them as they say they haven't got the wheel spec for Mk111 4x4 on their manufacturers approved list yet even though I've given them the spec. No such issues with http://www.tyremen.co.uk (in Hull so handy for me) who have been very helpful & seem competitive.

Also found http://www.roofbox.co.uk very helpful. Looking to get either a Kamei Corvara 475 or Kamei Delphin 470 so it'd be great to hear from any owners of these roof boxes.
