What are the 'Sport' model differences? (2.0 FSI)

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Having recently acquired one, I'm now wondering how the 'Sport' Octavia 2.0 FSI differentiates itself from other models. Is there an straight up "2.0 FSI" or does this engine always imply 'Sport' ?

The interior trim seems ok, but unremarkable. On the outside the obvious cues are the 17" wheels,  'sport' badges on the side and door step and a small, solid, spoiler.I'm wondering if the suspension or engine tuning is any different to other models? The exhaust seems a bit... 'throaty' sometimes, or maybe its just on the way out!

Cheers

Sports are quite rare in the UK because they stopped selling them when the VRS came out, although they still made them for other countries notably Germany for several more years.

The external badges were optional, mine doesn't have them, just the door sill kick plates.

The front & rear spoilers are different to the VRS and then there's the difference in BHP by about 3 insurance groups. Essentially the car was an Ambiente with a package of extras, lower ride height by 25mm but no BHP gain over a car with an equivalent engine (well certainly not in the case of the diesels 2.0 140)
