Fabia SE no497

Featured Replies

Well after over 4 years after selling my last fabia vrs I'm now thinking of getting another :) and really fancied an SE this time. Anyway, I have seen this one (no 497) and just wondering in case someone on here may have previously owned it or know about it? Have checked in the register on here but it's not on there! It's currently for sale at a garage (not dealers though) in the Rutland area.

It's over 4 hours drive away from me so basically, would be ideal if someone on here might know its history or live in the area as I don't want a wasted journey and end up there to find a rubbish car lol.

Thanks

I know nothing of this car but theres a guy on here called BossFox. Have a look in the for sale section. He's selling his. He's got a massive for sale thread and given some of his cars he's selling its gonna be well looked after. By the look of he he dont buy ****. Have a look in the for sale section.

Just had a look now, his is 07 65k. Think he's after £5,750 or something.

497 isn't on the SE owners list but you won't go far wrong buy buying BossFox's :)

Thanks guys, I have seen that one in the for sale section but I'm in North wales and believe that he is in Essex. Wee bit far I'm afraid :( o'r I would definitely be interested in that one for sure

  North Wales to Essex is surely < 4 hours?

Worth the drive though given it will more than likely be mint. Check out his collection.

I think the SE in the for sale section will be sold already as there seems to be quite a few interested in that. Its a really good price and decent miles too.

Good price, good miles, good condition, well worth the drive. There may be a lot of interest but in my experience the 1st person to slam coin into someones hand is normally the one to walk/drive away.

To put things in perspective I once drove from Cardiff to London for a kebab. If something is worth the drive then whats 1 day for all the enjoyment you'll get.

I drove from Scotland Fife, To Huddersfield for mine, no problem, a good day out and a great car at the end of it for a superb drive home

When I was buying my Fabia I did a 7 hour round trip to see one at a multi

brand car supermarket type place that was so rough when I saw it up close

that after a 3 hour drive there I looked at it for 10 seconds and turned around

and drove 4 hours home (roadworks).  I did a total of about 65 hours at the wheel

before I put a deposit on one. I think it's well worth the mileage to get the right

car. So in my opinion It's well worth the drive, even if you don't buy it. it's not far really.

I can promise you it will be a tidy example.

Richard (Bossfox) can afford to be picky so he is.

I've driven from my house near Bristol to Friern Barnet and back today just to go out

for a meal with a couple of friends. I've just arrived home, did the drive in 1 hour and

54 minutes door to door.  And that was in the van ;)

300 odd mile round trip

I understand what you guys are saying, believe me I have travelled over the country to purchase cars in the past but my issue is having someone to take me. My brother usually takes me but with two jobs and a new baby I feel rather guilty asking him as he's so busy at the mo. and also we went to have a look at one last month which was near Grimsby! wasted journey as the car was not as described :(

Does anyone actually take any notice of the drive times on Google maps? :)

I'd sooner go a bit further to buy the right car first time than do several shorter journeys to view sh! tters

Personally I'd rather 5 hours to see a car that will be spot on than 4 and a half to see a car that could be a heap.

Could you not hire a car for the day? Or get a days insurance on someone's?

Get the train to the nearest statiom to where BossFox lives.

Get the train to his nearest station and request to be picked up in his GTR, surely that would be worth the 4hr trip without seeing the SE :)

Edit : infact get the station reasonably furthest away from him so you enjoy the drive more lol.

As mentioned above it will be worth the drive, Bossfox looks after his cars, his 09 SE was an absolute minter, epic car.
