Park Assist

Featured Replies

Having put it off so far I finally braved the park assist button today and I was impressed if not a little nervous. It's a strange sensation taking your hands off the wheel and watching it spin.

It's a bit scary for the firsy 3/4 times and you'll feel a strong urge to grab the steering wheel.

Resist and let the Yeti take the strain, and you will soon gain confidence.

Try waving with both hands at people while you're doing it and you'll get some strange looks.  :giggle:

I waited ages before trying the system - had to find a very quiet bit of road with suitable parked cars and gaps to test it on.

I went for it almost as soon as I had the car. Brilliant. Love it. All I ever do is slowly release pressure on the brake and look around me, and wave with both hands at passers by

Works brilliantly , I love it and try to use it as often as possible, BUT it will not indicate the possibility to manouver itself into a tight spot, that I would anticipate manually with relative ease.

If I recall correctly. When looking for a spot to park, if you indicate left the car looks for a space on the left (also does this by default) indicate right and it looks for a space on the right although I think this will only work in a one way road and will not 'see' a spot on the right if there is another lane on the right, I guess on coming traffic may even scare the pants off the system   :giggle:

Indeed ,If you want to park on the right hand side of the road turn on the right signal along with the park assist button, otherwise it wont work. When looking for a spot on the left side, you need not turn on the indicator, just press the park assist whilst the car is in motion.

In my country it is the other way round, ha ha ha. :whew:

Absolutely correct but but the Yeti is very polite so it indicates first

Now on our second Yeti with PA and I wouldn't be without it, although it's only used occasionally. My wife still shuts her eyes every time I use it, however, as she is convinced it can't possibly work, despite the evidence that it does!
