VRS Fabia or FR Ibiza 130

took an FR out for a spin today!

will be ordering a fabia VRS as soon as ive got some funds sorted.

not that the FR is a bad car or nothing but the ride was very firm, great for road holding and cornering but on the open roads and motorways it was a bit too firm for my liking and also the inside wasn't up to the VRS standard IMO.

i expected more from the FR handling seeing as its over 70kg lighter.

also i noticed how high the doors come up the sides making it seem dark inside.

will be ordering from drivethedeal very soon, im gonna go for red i think.

Good choice - I'm sure you won't be disappointed with the Fabia.

Nothing realted about the cars' date=' but a brief note on buying from the internet.

I bought mine from tins.co.uk, brand new, delivery was 2 weeks (quicker than what my local dealers could off) and the service was excellent.

When I got the car I popped to my local dealer to introduce myself, and the rest is history...

So have no worries about buying from reputable companies off the internet, its a class A service [/quote']

That's exactly what I did!

Same company (tins) -

Me and my best mate both drove the vRS and FR back to back on the same day. He ordered the FR and I went for the vRS...

My mate really liked the look of the Ibiza and got offered a decent discount plus a good trade-in for his old car, plus his Mrs told him 5 doors cars are not sporty apparently and she's a Skoda badge snob. I went for the Skoda cause it just felt right. I like the chunky styling, the better quality interior and the extra toys wern't that important to me. I didn't like the hard seats in the Seat and the shockingly stiff suspension would drive me nuts after a week. The Skoda had a better ride, 5 doors (handy when lugging IT equipment about with job) and was cheaper.

Ibiza :

Pros - More toys (seat funbags, climatronic, mp3 stereo with wheel controls)

Cons - spine damaging ride, road noise, crummy interior trim compared to Skoda and VW equivalent

Fabia :

Pros - cheaper to buy, 5 doors

Cons - higher insurance group

It's personal preference really. I'm really happy with the Skoda, my mate with his Ibiza.

iv'e had both the vrs and now the fr. i had the 53 model vrs and it had the high gears. the fr has the low gears that they all have now and it's a lot easier to drive.

has everyone says it's pros and cons. the vrs i had was lowered and it was definately a harder ride than the fr. i think personally the vrs has more street cred the the fr. i just would like to see a 3 door vrs. the vrs had a lot more rattles and squeaks than my current fr but that could of been due to the harder suspension. i like them both but i think a vrs with a set of nice wheels looks best. trim quality and overall gadgets again the vrs wins. Tom.
