VRS GFV Thread - please post your values

Featured Replies

Guys & Gals,

I thought it might be handy to have a thread for referral to which lists the gfv people have been quoted for the new VRS.

With 0% finance on offer it can then be easy enough for us all to calculate potential finance payments with varying deposits and options. This can be used as a target price when negotiating with Dealers.

When listing your quoted value can you please include the following details:

Hatch or Estate

Petrol or Diesel

Manual or DSG

Mileage

Term of PCP in months.

When I get a chance later I'll go through other threads where gfv's have been quoted and update this post.

  • @ booyaka, they are your figures! I've simply copied them over from another thread. But yes, they'll be no different if I were to get a quote for the same spec/mileage

  • no option 3 is   Say the GFV is £10k of your car you have now. If the dealers value it at 12k, you have £2k equity to carry over to your next pcp deal.

Is that hatch or estate Matt? Guessing hatch

TDI DSG Hatch 42 months 6k per annum £11555

Estate, diesel, manual, 36 months, 15,000 PA - £10,200

Same vehicle over 42 months £9510

Apologies yes a hatch

Estate TDI manual

25,000 miles p/a

36 months

£8,900 or therabouts

btw, extras make no difference to the GFV

dealers won't/can't change the GFV's - this is set by the finance company for the set parameters.

so for instance my GFV were exactly the same as fewie's above.

Only negotiation is on the price you pay for the vehicle. the gfv is exactly the same on the same car from each dealer (or it certainly should be)

Are you saying that even if my GFV is set at the beginning of the deal I might need to pay more for the car if I want to own it after 3 years of paying..?

At the end of the PCP term you have three choices;

1. Pay the GFV and own the car outright

2. Give the car back (you may need to pay mileage penalties if you have exceeded your agreed annual mileage)

3. Use it as a p/ex against a new car with the hope that there is some equity (note you can trade in against other makes as well as Skoda)

As to the GFV, there will be 8 values per mileage/term for the vRS combinations of;

Estate/Hatch, TDI/TSI and Manual/DSG

You can have the GFV lowered which will increase your monthly payments, but will hopefully lead to a larger equity when/if you p/ex.

Understand first two points but not sure about the third one...does that mean that if I decide to part ex the car it will be valued by the dealer and GFV will not be taken into the account..? I was under the impression that if I decide to part ex the car for the new one after three years, my GFV is let's say £10,000 and new car is £20,000, the GFV will pay for the half of the new car and I'll only have to pay the remaining £10,000...is that not the case..? This might be daft question but I'm new to these PCPs and would like to know how this third option works as first two options are pretty clear.

no option 3 is

Okey Dokey...Didn't know that...I was under the impression that whole GFV goes toward the new car...Good to know that as i was explaining this wrong to my wifey

So this 2k is my deopsit toward the new car....Not whole 12k...?

Sorry but need to be 100% sure

Matt

That's right. Ultimately you have to pay in full for the car you have. The PCP just allows you to defer a portion until the end.

Yes that's correct.

After 3 years you get a new motor/PCP and continue paying, and the "wifey" is over the moon at having a new car that can fit your ever expanding family and that no longer stinks of baby puke.

Tell me about it....Been trying to persuade her to buy the new vRS but it bit difficult to get her permission...It's all about the savings, getting rid of the Credit Cards, house improvements blah blah blah for her...the car is at the end of her list unfortunately... :wall:

I think under those circumstances, it would also be at the end of my list :)

It's not as bad as it looks...Trust me...Women love to panic and some love spending money on almost eveything and don't care wbout how much they speding, the other (like mine) are different and count every penny they spend and think about long term plans (2/3 years)...I wish mine was the mixture of both....!!!
