Radio Dance Roomster Self switches ON

Featured Replies

2007 Roomster Scout. Dance Radio. When parked and locked radio comes on from time to time, stays on for a while and goes off again. I have not had the patience to sit and time the intervals. Key function works as advertised on key removal. Car used daily so no battery issues yet, but can foresee a problem if left for longer periods. I have read that some VW have a similar issue. Can anyone throw some light on this?

I too have the Dance unit though I have not experienced any problem with the radio turning itself on (or off).

Had to leave the car for a month, battery totally flat. Got it started with jump leads, recharged battery, fault has returned. Car parked and locked, radio comes on by itself.

Quite a long shot, but I've heard of people either getting the radio reprogrammed or leaving a CD in the player, some say it makes no difference and others have sorted their issue. Worth trying.

You are lucky to still have a working radio.

My Dance radio had to be slung about 3 years ago (56 plate).

It was a poor radio from Day 1 anyway.

Radio reprogrammed by Skoda, then replaced. Now the radio is OK. However, the Electro steering light is now coming on, closely followed by lots of other warnings, ABS and the like. Then engine cuts. After much head scratching have replaced the battery as the load of the steering may be dropping the voltage on a battery which otherwise seems fine and gives normal voltage readings. Watch this space for further.

Fingers crossed; I hope you've sorted it.

I have to say, if my dealer had returned my car to me with newly illuminated warning lights, I would have rejected it back on him to sort out whatever it was he had done to my car to cause the warning lights to illuminate in the first place.

I'm watching this space - and hoping for good news.
