  • Didn't you get the memo?   CO2 was invented by the Nazis to use as a tool to stop the Jews driving fancy cars. It's not real!

  • Increase fuel consumption? By how much? It'd be negligible per car

  • You want to remove them!?! I'm just upgrading my bulbs, they're rubbish what's standard. Anything what improves visibility to other drivers has got to be beneficial surely? And fuel consumption inc

Wow, that's much more like it; these look like the real deal but at £180 without p&p to the UK, a little too expensive for me.   No matter which bulbs/LEDs are placed in the Citigo DRLs they will never be a match for a dedicated bank of LED DRLs.  The good thing about the standard Citigo DRLs is that they are in a good position but the ones kindly posted by 'ajprice' might just be a little too low down to be truly effective as DRLs on the Citigo?  Maybe I should treat myself on 10th October, when they will be available again and I'll be the brightest spark in town?

That should have read £170 without p&p to the UK.

These are replacement VW foglights with an LED ring DRL and foglights in the centre. Fits the Citigo/Mii/Up and various other VW's. The foglights must be a standard VW design across them all.

I do like them even at that price, might get some when my Elegance arrives.

I was thinking the same!....... the OH would never know! :bandit:

Very nice. Maybe too low, but surely only as low as the DRLs on the Fabia vRS...

DRL's are down with the fog lamps on my Octavia vRS, that is not too low?

Seen a few manufactures have them very low, most new Mercedes are low.

A nice bright DRL at any height is better than none, surely?

Seen a couple of Mondeos they are low also the standard Drls on the current Passat are in the fog light zone

  • 1 month later...

Just installed a pair of MTEC DRLs to my Citigo. Really pleased with them, they give a nice bright, white light, and under £10 delivered they're a cheap tasteful mod.

Agreed :)

Yes they look so much better. Almost a match to my nightbreakers. Now to sort out the fogs :)

So which are whiter? Your drl's or night breakers (stormchaser) ?

I would say my DRL,s are brighter. The Osram Nightbreaker Plus makes the light more crisper as opposed to bright white.

Am I reading this right, are you talking about fitting these to have 2 sets of DRLs? How many lights do you need during the day?

I suppose you could have those instead of the normal drl's as they can be disabled if you wanted

They seem to be out of stock till next year...

Oops - sorry about double post. Feel free to zap one into oblivion... :)

Been discussed at length

Basically MTEC's or Led from HID Direct for the DRL's and Headlight bulbs are Osram Nightbreaker plus or Philips extreme vision H4's.

Easy to fit, all of them. 2 minute job.

Please tell me how you got the headlight connecters off so quickly. I've been tugging away for about an hour and they won't budge. What's the trick? The DRL and indicator bulbs were a doodle. Thanks.

Yeah I found this too when I changed mine. I just grabbed the plug and used brute force. I know it feels as if it's springing out and going to break but they don't.Just pull with all your might :)

Brute force and ignorance is key :D

My MTEC bulbs arrived today, just need to wait for my Citigo to arrive!

Roll on December. Never looked forward to Christmas so much for a long time.

You'll be impressed with the MTEC's fella

Its going to be a great xmas prezzie for you mate...

Just socks and deodorant for me :(

Brute force and ignorance is key :D

Certainly need  some force - thanks for the confidence to pull that hard - passenger side is very awkward.

Bulbs now all replaced up front, Osram Night Breaker Plus, Philips Silvervision Indicator Bulbs and the MTEC Super White DRL's. The headlight bulbs are amazing and the others look really good. Much classier than the original yellow. Well worth the £30 expense for all the bulbs. Highly recommended.
