seized tie rods / track rods

Featured Replies

Took my Octavia mk1 to have the tracking done yesterday as its out. The garage couldn't do it as he couldn't undo the bolts to adjust the tracking.

Is this common on the Octavia's.

Any tips on how to lossen the damn things off please guys?

It's common on most cars TBH.

Heat usually does it. I'm surprised the garage didn't have a turbotorch to give it a blast.

PlusGas would be my first choice.

I did the same but the monkeys melted mine!

Grrrr!

New rods and ends required for me!

Morons!

To much heat to fast,

They usually dont take alot of heat to shift them

Worst comes to the worst, replace the track rod and the track rod end. Takes less than 40 mins for both sides.
