how can you tell if a gearbox has a lsd?

It came off a octy vRS track slag with 85 on the clock. So its the standard OJ (think thats right) 5 speed with the diff and it spins the same way. My mate dan said its worth cracking open just to make sure its not welded and you 100% know what is in there.

It only cost me £100 for the privilege. Before anyone says that is too cheap, as the chap said to me, hes earnt the money back from breaking the car so the box doesn't owe him anything except for space. He would of sold it for more, but that was time waiting for the sale and he just wanted rid since he didn't have a mk4 platform any more.

Just fit it pita to strip buddy

Won't be welded IMO

I am hopefully having it installed by a garage, if they can't do it, on the drive way, how easy is it to remove, fit and install a gearbox and clutch?

Don't bother fitting it...

Good buy wasn't it haha.

top find ;)

Any idea what brand of diff it's supposed to be ?

Not a clue. My mate Dan thinks it's mechanical diff rather than the other type? So I don't know who makes that type. I was tempted to crack it open, but everyone I speak to says just chuck it in.
