Unknown fault code found by garage - can anyone help?

Featured Replies

Hello everyone,

New member and first time poster. I drive a mkII octavia, 2010 plate and 80k on the clock.

 I'm trying to establish the cause of a fault code found by my local garage. They do not know what it means, despite ringing around a bit and doing an internet search. It reads;

'code 7313 function restriction due to received malfunction value u1113 upper limit exceeded'

The car seems to run absolutley fine however.

The issue was brought to light this morning when the exhaust system warning light came on and stayed on, despite numerous restarts. Each time the coil warning light flashed for around 20sec, then went out. I have had intermittant flashing of the coil light over the last three weeks (approx once week), but it has always gone out on restart. This has been since the cars 80k service.

This is doing my head in a bit as although the car seems fine, even with warning lights on, I obviously cant quite fully trust it until I have rooted out the cause of this issue. I do lots of miles!

Any help appreciated.

7313 is the diesel particulate filter I believe, and the generic definition of u1113 just says it's out of it's normal limit.. So I guess it's re-gen time, but I don't think you can do it if there is a code present
