New Turbo

Featured Replies

Hey I am new to briskoda, I have a skoda fabia 1.9 tdi, I have been looking at engine swap and im wondering if anyone has done a engine swap? And I am wondering what turbo I can put on the current 1.9tdi engine to produce more power? Thanks

Assuming it's 'just' a standard PD100 TDI and not a VRS yes there are engine swaps out there.

the Fabia running one of the highest powers (approx 300bhp at last count) started life as a PD100, although now sports a heavily worked over PD130 with a mahoooosive turbo on it

Alternatively i think you can swap just the injectors and turbo to those off a PD130 and make PD130 kind of power

chrisw880 is running a PD100 with almost 160bhp from memory

I was looking at engine swap. And Im not sure if the seat Leon fr tdi 170 would fit? And i have been looking around for a bigger turbo. But not much look as of yet. Thanks

Stick to same era of technology to be honest.  You can bolt on a hybrid PD150 turbo and PD130/PD150 injectors and happily push 200bhp.  Would need to consider clutch, brakes, suspension, intercooler too though!

Stuff "fits" - getting it working is another matter.  PD100 as an engine is solid, so upgrade the components leaving the original essentials like wiring in place.

I am currently changing exhaust and cooling systems.. And I might have to check out this hybrid ;)

Depends how much power you want? An how much money do you want to spend? I changed all sorts on mine and i should be around the 230bhp mark.

You can make 145bhp roughly on standard equipment on a pd100. Which is a 45% increase on power, thats not bad really.

Mine was fun for a while with a map. I had straight through exhaust and an fmic for 4 days until my turbo blew :3
