vibration? pulsation at highway speeds

Featured Replies

AA above what's likely to be causing the pulsing vibration? It pulse vibrates like every couple of seconds then stops to repeat. Mainly noticeable above 65-70mph.

I'm guessing it's not tyres or bearing as it vibrates in stages so steering wheel will start to shake then stop then do it again. It's very rhythmical if that makes sense

If the steering vibrates at +60 in either 4th, 5th or 6th then it's got to be something to do with tyres or wheels, one of them maybe slightly out  of balance or a tyre may have a bulge or imperfection.

If you have spacers fitted, then they may be the cause.

If it only happens in one gear then it's not tyre related.

DB.

as above ^ could also be tyre pressure or tracking related.

make sure your not running over the white line too lol

Even though the vibration isn't constant and is almost rhythmic with it Vibrating stops for few seconds then starts again

might be shock absorders? if the dampers have gone?

Have you had a puncture fixed recently? I've heard of a similar effect when part of a tyre valve or other debris has been left in the wheel. Also heard of these liquid puncture treatments causing the same effect.

To be honest I couldn't say I bought the car in June and it's always done it

I'd say it is the wheels/tyres too. It might be worth looking at getting the wheel balanced.

A friend of mine had this too, usually happened between 65 and 75mph

What's three?

Corrected the autocorrect/typo, I meant tyres.
