I think all of the early build VRS' had only the mode button (including LHD cars). You could see it in the early reviews, where all the cars were LHD.

an update on mine.

 

I asked skoda uk about it last week via facebook.

 

Theyve phoned me today and confirmed that a service bulletin said the button would only appear after a certain build week.  They havd checked though and mine was built after this date (week 36) so should have had it installed.

Theyve asked me to photograph the button layout by the gearstick which theyll send to the factory and see if retrofit is possible.

 

Its also possible that retrofit isnt possible

Mine was built week 40 and Im willing to bet it doesnt have the button saying VRS but says MODE.

i suspect most peoples havent.  They seem to have run out of buttons at the factory!

Almost seems pointless as a VRS button would imply it puts the car into performance mode, like a BMW M button, but in the VRS it gives you a choice of modes, so just mode would be more appropriate.

Mine is due to be built on week 43 "which is 2 days " not very excited tbh lol. Wonder if mine will have a VRS button or the basic mode one. But if it doesn't make any difference then I'm not too bothered. Maybe I could tip ex it on, paint it red and install flashing LEDs around it. It may then go faster

Yep mine has MODE not vrs. No surprise there. But Im not that bothered what the button says tbh lol much more fun just driving the car

Mine's build week 44, so I'll have a look when I get it but VRS TDI estate I test drove just had mode button.

Just spotted the 'vRS Mode' button is now in the latest infotainment manuals for 11/2013. Funtionality is the same as the normal button though.

 

 

I'd buy one if it cheapish and if its availble as a spare which i can't see why it wouldn't be seeing as this panel of buttons changes depending on spec so they must all be individual buttons

It's also in the German Octavia owners manual along with Front Assist.

Front Assist isn't mentioned in the manual I've downloaded from this site.

Anyone know if this showing up on the latest ETKA?

Got mine on Friday (wk 41 build) - just mode button. Can't see me bothering to change it mind you. Normal mode seems fine.
