Door seal replacement

Featured Replies

The rear door seals on my wife's Fabia are looking a bit the worse for wear. Does anyone have any tips for their removal and replacement please? Also where is the best place to get replacements from?

You may /may not get a reply or comments regarding Kittens being killed . That's because one of the few Fabia problems is door card leaks. Try a search

with topic fabia door seal cure or similar. I'll bet you'll even find a "how to do it" somewhere. Fabia door cards attract leaks like the Titanic attracted icebergs. I had my rear ones done by a ( now non out of work) main dealer about five years ago and I suspect the rearscare leaking, and the fronts show signs of leeks. Strange that orher VAG brands boast being almost watertight, whilst Fabia migh just swap the Skoda symbol for a LEEK ( and have OGGIE ,OGGIE as a slogan)

And further down the fabia forum ,there's this

I assumed the op meant the rubber/felt around the door/body as he says they are looking worse for wear

Yes that's exactly what I meant. The rubber door seals around the back doors are on their last legs.

I had a quick search and nothing relevant came up, at least nothing relevant with anything practical in it.

I've only read of the odd issue with the front seals. I don't know of anyone who's replaced them. I'd guess you've seen there are plenty for sale on eBay or through Google shopping. Part number is... or should be 6Y6867367C LUJ

Actually, there are a couple of threads - search for "fabia door weatherstrip" on google and ask for more results...

Thanks. Half the problem is knowing what to search for. I didn't know they were called weatherstrips, for instance, which is why I called them door seals.
