Ok well now I hav no gears n aa on the way. Defo dmf then?????

Could be, not necessarily 100%

Slave cylinder on the clutch??

Had a new clutch n slave in october.so hopin its nt that. If this helps u can hear a sort of whirring/grinding noise wen the car is switched on

Aaan daid he can feel that there is some sort of bitin point. Waiting to gt towed nw :'(

Can you select any gears with the engine switched off?

Yeah no problems when engine off

That tells me it's clutch/flywheel related then.

The wirring noise would also give me a clue it's possibly the slave cylinder though.

My bet its the release bearing knackerd.

Good luck with the fix, I'd quote about £250 - £300 to replace that alone.

Thank for the replies. Got the gear box off and my clutch plate has sheared off, which is the second time its sheared in 9 months. Someone has suggested that its the gearbox, so now im so confused and wanting to give up. Dmf has a little play in -moves 3 teeth and wobbles a bit. Im wondering if anyone else has had this or is it just my fabia playin up

what brand clutch are you putting in? might be worth paying a little more for one that will last?

I thought it would - its a Sachs

Get Sachs or LUK, both have at least 12 month warranty, I think LUK have two year.

I think the parts place are going to send it off. Because its a sachs and has done it before, think its something else causing it to do it.
