Suzuki Ignis Sport

Featured Replies

I should admit this I know but i really like the look of the ignis sport. Can anyone comment on what they're like to drive/build quality?

My sister has just bought a new suzuki although I am not sure what model it is.

got a type of wrc kit on it and recaro bits? yeah i seen a yellow one and a sivler one they look really butch! lol :)

Yep, old school hot hatch - I'd love one and would probably buy one if I was in the market for a small quick hatch.

saw one yesterday, looked pretty cool. do they go well?

I believe 0-60 is somewhere between 8-9 seconds, top speed is around 120mph, mpg is 40. Insurance is group 9. Recaro interior, with bodykit and white alloys, looks very cute. Unfortunately the kit isnt as big as the rally car.

How are they old skool??????? Old Skool would be a Mk1 Golf GTI or an Escort XR3!!

They are pretty cool though, My G/F had one which we part ex'd for the vRS!

Had 17" Alloys, WRC Bodykit with Huge Rally Fogs, Mesh Grill and a reallynice burbly Zorst Note!!! (Thanks to the Suzuki Bike Boys) Has the same fuel injection system as a Hayabusa!!! 1.5VVT with 107Bhp in summat that ways bugger all! Lovely Recaro's too, Pity the build Quality is a bit poo and it depreciates faster than Steve from the X-Factors Career!!!

Will dig out some pics!

they never do!

How are they old skool? Well, the handling, the organic traction control and point and squirt-ability of it, the weight.....

Not like other "hot hatches" that weigh over 1300kg this one is under the ton (945kg) :D :D

They come with 15s as standard.

Big Fogs and Big Alloys!!!!

DSC01809.jpg

Big F/Off Spoiler and semi-shiny Zorst!!!

Looked Cool, but she kept getting raced everywhere, Won a few times too if I seem to remember :)

Ohh Aye, Plod seemed to like it too!!!

Although it was tacky fake C/Fibre dash inserts and plastic fantastic inside it was quite well specced: ABS, EBD, A/C, MP3 Stereo etc!

No T/C though, which could make pulling away from junctions pretty entertaining!

Will say the Dealers are cool and will bend over backwards to help you! Lost 2 grand in 6 months of ownership though :(

That's what I meant by "organic traction control" - wheels spin, you take your foot off the accelerator :D

Actually makes you think when driving rather than "plant it and let the car sort it out" :D

such a cute little car!! and yellow!!! :D

Aye It sort of Matched the Corrado!!! Is a Girls car though! Although once you got me behind the wheel it was a hoot! A thirsty hoot too :(

Cant see how you'd have traction problems in it - my Golf weighs less and has more power, and you have to really try to get that to spin.

A MK2 weighs more than an Ignis!!! plus you only have 5 more Bhp ;)

How so?

Ignis is 945 kg... Mk2 is 940 kg.

I drove the Ignis Sport when it was released - quite a quick car but only if you really abuse it.

As seems to be the case these days car engines are producing more power at smaller displacements, so the power and torque goes further up the rev range - the Ignis sport (which IMHO looks better with the white alloys than the shiney ones in the photo above) needs about 6800 to deliver all it's power (105 bhp IIRC), and has very little torque at any point.

Basically if you like to drive quickly once in a while, it's a great little car, if you like to drive quickly regularly, get something else.

It looks really nice. If anything id get a second hand one. Ive learned my lesson with the octavia on buying cars new.

How thirsty was it? On paper they do 40mpg.

If you're getting 40mpg out of one you're doing not 60 in 9 seconds! At nearly 7k rpm to get it to go anywhere you're not getting good MPG's!

Edit: Good fun car though - def worth a drive. Like said above - an old skool hot hatch type car :D

Mmm Not getting 40Mpg thats for sure!!!! Usually into the 30's! Heavy right foot would usually see it in the 20's!!!!!
